local outreaches

"If your Gospel isn't touching others, it hasn't touched you."

- Curry R. Blake

Through our Community Groups and all-church outreaches we put the Gospel into practice by reaching out to our community. To get involved, contact your Community Group leader to find what local events they are participating in.

The heart of Compassion in Action is to serve our neighborhood by meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the working poor in the community. We meet these needs through large annual events as well as smaller on-going activities. Compassion in Action engages the people of our church to grow in their own walk with God while they invest their time into serving others.

Weekly Opportunities to get involved in this Winter:

- Reading Buddies at local elementary schools

- Lunch Buddies at local elementary schools

- Donate food for the school's food bank (collection bins in church lobby)

If you would like to get involved in any of these outreaches please contact Darci Andrews here.

HAZEL DELL LEARNING BUDDIES: We have an amazing opportunity to connect with kids and teachers every week through a learning program at Hazel Dell Elementary. Our heart is to improve the lives of kids by helping them get up to grade-level in their schoolwork. This is a 30 minute, once-a-week commitment. Training and preparation is provided. Contact Darci Andrews for more information

UNCHAINED: Prison Ministry is an outreach to those in prison, their families, and ex-offenders, with the good news of freedom in Christ. A Team leaves weekly under the leadership of Ron and Donna Brandon to serve those who are incarcerated at Larch Mountain Correctional Center. Special training is offered for those who are interested in being a part of this ministry area. For more information on receiving ministry or in being part of the Team, contact Ben Meckel

I-5 Clean Up Team

Impacting our community comes in all kinds of forms - and one of the ways that we make a practical difference is cleaning up a portion of I-5. Once every 6-8 weeks we put on our work gloves, our hard hats and our reflective vests and we head out to pick up garbage off the side of the road. Sound like something you'd like to join in on sometime? Contact Peter Schrater for details
