Missions Near & Far

Missions
Bob MacGregor
Senior Pastor

Every local church has a mission, a purpose and task that God has called that local assembly to do.  That mission is to reach those near us, like us, different from us, and far from us.  In Acts 1:18, Jesus commanded His disciples that they were to be His witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the uttermost part of the earth.

We believe God has a heart for our city, Vancouver, Washington, but His heart also beats for those who live in cities, towns, and villages around the world.  Our mission also involves those “far from us.”  We believe that there are to be no geographical limitations on our vision at City Harvest Church.

City Harvest Church is currently active in ministry and support in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Thailand, Afghanistan, Guatemala, Kenya, Iran, and Iraq.  We want to fulfill our commission to minister to those “far from us” through:

  1. Financial support of church plants.
  2. Equipping and sending church planters.
  3. Strengthening existing churches in foreign fields with Apostolic teams.
  4. Sending short term missions teams to strengthen church plants in other nations.

How can I get involved in international church planting?

  1. Take the Values Class of CHC.
  2. Identify with a House Church of CHC.
  3. Take the Condensed World Mission Course offered every quarter through CHC’s School of Ministry.  (SOM)
  4. Get a passport and use your vacation for Jesus by going on a short term mission trip. The trip schedule will be posted by October, 2005 for the 2006 travel calendar.
  5. Join us for prayer on Tuesday mornings at 6:30 A.M. where we pray for the Nations.
  6. Ask God to guide you in supporting CHC church planters in Brazil, Afghanistan, Iran, Thailand, or Iraq.
  7. Contact your House Church Pastor or Zone Pastor if you feel God is calling you to be a part of City Harvest Church’s International Church Plant Team.
