A summary of Day 1.
Today's Scripture
The Genesis reading was about the creation of the earth. It makes a point that God created a definite division of light and darkness and gave mankind (us!) dominion over the earth and every creation therein. He also instituted marriage the day he created Eve.
The psalms reading was, in a nutshell, "If you walk in the fear of the Lord and obey His commands then you will have an inheritance. If not, then God's wrath will come upon you and He will not hear your prayers."
Proverbs 1:1-7 (to expand a little) says: "Do not walk with the ungodly nor receive their counsel. Hear the instruction of your father and mother and do not turn away from the Lord's rebuke."
Our reading in Matthew was the geneaology of the Jacob line. Man, how crazy that must have been for the Lord to speak to Joseph and tell him that Mary had conceived by the Holy Spirit, especially with their laws and how that would have been viewed in that day and time.
